How do I get an account?
To get started with a new UCalgaryBlogs site, you will need to register an account using your @ucalgary.ca email address. You will receive a confirmation message in your email.
We are currently offering UCalgaryBlogs sites to current staff, student, and faculty, as well as student organizations, programs, publications and research groups.
How do I get my site?
After confirming your email address and signing into UCalgaryBlogs, you will see in the upper left navigation menu the option for My Sites. Select the one you wish to visit using its Dashboard.
Where can I find more information on how to use WordPress?
Additional documentation including tutorials is available through the official WordPress website.

Technical Information
Maintenance
UCalgaryBlogs is designed to be available 24/7/365 depending on University infrastructure, excluding scheduled maintenance times.
Scheduled maintenance may occur in on Thursday between 1 to 5 am, Alberta time. As much as is possible, server and application updates will be performed during this time frame.
Unscheduled maintenance may occur when there is additional required service downtime and will be announced on the Alerts and Outages page.
Additionally, UCalgaryBlogs depends on infrastructure provided by the Information Technologies department and may be affected by the availability of their external resources.
What plugins are available?
The available plugins on UCalgaryBlogs is limited, please see the dedicated page for a description of what you may enable on your site. This service does not allow for additional plugins. Plugins are evaluated annually for compatibility, support, and usage.
What themes are available?
There are a variety of popular themes available on UCalgaryBlogs which can be customized on a per-site basis. Please see the dedicated page for previews of each theme. This service does not allow for additional themes.
Storage limitations
There is a quota of 250mb per site, if you require more please contact us.
Site Lifecycle
Sites will remain active on the UCalgaryBlogs platform for two years after their last activity, reviewed every January. If a site has not been active for 2 years at that time, they will be removed from the platform.
