What is UCalgary Blogs?
UCalgary Blogs is a blogging service offered by the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary. Its goal is to provide a publishing platform to easily publish, manage, and share content in a higher education environment.
It runs the popular Word Press blogging software used by millions daily, and provides access to numerous plugins and themes, as well as integration with a variety of external platforms.
What are the usage and privacy policies?
To utilize the UCalgary Blogs platform you must abide by the University of Calgary’s policies on the Acceptable Use of Electronic Resources and Information Policy, as well as the universities Intellectual Property Policy. Additionally, you must agree to our Terms of Service.
Inactive sites will be subject to deletion after two years of inactivity.

- Web content and updates, backups.
- Custom designs beyond what is available within the existing themes.
It is important to remember to not store or collect sensitive information on your blogs, this includes but is not limited to student numbers, private personal information. Additionally, do not use your site for mission-critical information.
